Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 5, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how WebScrapeKit collects, uses, and protects information when you use the WebScrapeKit Chrome extension and this website. We wrote this to be plain and direct, not dense with legal filler.
What We Collect
Extension: data extracted by the user
All data you extract using WebScrapeKit (lists, images, emails, page details) is processed entirely inside your own browser. It never leaves your device. We do not receive, store, or have any access to the pages you visit or the data you scrape.
Extension: local storage
WebScrapeKit stores your scrape history in chrome.storage.local, which is local to your Chrome profile. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere. You can clear it at any time from the History screen inside the extension.
Website: analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the pages. This includes anonymised data such as page views, session duration, browser type and country. No personally identifying information is collected from this website beyond what these services automatically capture.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
What We Do Not Collect
- We do not require an account or email address to use the extension.
- We do not track the websites you visit.
- We do not receive the data you extract from any website.
- We do not sell any data to third parties.
- We do not use cookies on this website beyond what analytics tools require.
Third-Party Services
Google Analytics: Used to analyse website traffic. Governed by Google Privacy Policy.
Vercel: This website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel collects basic access logs as part of infrastructure operations. See Vercel Privacy Policy.
Google Fonts: The extension and this website load the Bricolage Grotesque font from Google Fonts CDN. Google may log IP addresses as part of serving font files.
Data Retention
We do not retain user data because we do not collect it. Scrape history stored locally in the extension is kept for up to 50 entries and can be cleared by the user at any time. Analytics data retained by Google and Vercel is governed by their respective policies.
Children
WebScrapeKit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of the page reflects when changes were last made. Continued use of the extension or this website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
